- Notification to a parent or guardian where appropriate under applicable law.
- Reporting to relevant authorities if the underage account was exposed to inappropriate content or engaged in prohibited conduct.
4. Detection and Prevention
We employ multiple layers of protection to detect and prevent CSAE on our platform:
Proactive Detection
- Content moderation systems that flag potentially harmful content for human review.
- Hash-matching technology to identify known CSAM using industry databases (including NCMEC PhotoDNA).
- Automated detection of grooming patterns in messaging.
- Regular audits of platform features that could be misused to reach minors.
User Reporting
Users can report child safety concerns using either of the following methods:
- In-app: Tap the "..." (more options) button on any post → select Report → choose Child Safety. The report is immediately escalated to our trust and safety team as a critical-priority item.
- Email: Send a report directly to [email protected] with the username or profile name of the account being reported and a brief description of the concern.
- Reports should describe the concern as clearly as possible โ a screenshot or link to the content is helpful but not required.
- All child safety reports are escalated immediately to our trust and safety team.
- Reports are treated confidentially โ reporters are never identified to the reported user.
5. Response and Enforcement
Upon detecting or receiving a report of potential CSAE:
- Immediate removal โ the content is removed from the platform within 24 hours of confirmation, and often within 1 hour for high-confidence detections.
- Account suspension โ the account is suspended pending investigation.
- Evidence preservation โ we preserve content and account data in accordance with law enforcement requirements (18 U.S.C. ยง 2703).
